NAD VISO 3 Stereo Receiver
The VISO Three is NAD’s stereo CD/receiver combo that includes an iPod/iPhone dock and a USB port for playing music off an external hard drive. It’s designed to match the compact PSB VISO TWENTY speakers. The 50 watt-per-channel receiver includes an AM/FM tuner (not HD) with RDS display capability for track and artist ID. The iPhone/iPod dock is separate and tethered by a cable, making placement on a gear rack easier.
Bowers and Wilkins Zeppelin Air
The Zeppelin Air is a new and improved wireless audio system, which allows users to stream content directly from iTunes, as well as an iPhone, iPad or iPod touch. This means you could have a simple, stylish multiroom audio system, using a computer and several Zeppelin Airs around the house.
Aside from the increased functionality, B&W says that they’ve also updated drive units, up-rated amplification, and added the latest in Digital Signal Processing. The new 2.1 design also has an improved output (4x25W + 1x50W), which promises room-filling sound. Other features include B&W’s own Flowport technology, Dynamic EQ, and upgraded DACs with 24bit-96KHz capability.
Wharfedale DX-1 Home Cinema Loudspeaker System
Wharfedale, from England, has a long reputation for high-quality speakers, but that doesn’t mean they come at ridiculous prices. The DX-1 Home Cinema system is a 5.1 home theater set consisting of four wall-mountable satellite speakers, a center channel and a powered subwoofer. The DX-1’s satellite and center speakers employ 3-inch woven polypropylene woofers and 0.75-inch silk dome tweeters, for smooth and detailed music and movie soundtrack reproduction. The subwoofer has an 8-inch long-throw woofer, driven by a built-in 150-watt Class D amplifier.
